AuthenticRollerbladeCityExplorer Marrakech | Episode 5
from AuthenticRollerblade on 3 Jul 2014

CityExplorer is a video project in which Jeremy Suarez (26) from Belguim and Timmy v. Rixtel (27) from Holland are exploring 7 cities on their Rollerblade Maxxum’s, while meeting up with friends and seeing what the cities have to offer. Their 5th stop was Marrakech, Morocco. Previous cities visited were Dubai, Luxemburg, Innsbruck and Valencia.

Marrakech, Morocco, known as the ‘Red City’ for its red walls and buildings, it is the most important former imperial city in Morocco’s history. From its narrow streets of the old city of Medina and the vibrancy of Djemaa El Fna Square, to historical monuments such as Koutoubia, Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, and finally to the European-style modern district of Gueli, Marrakech is a robust city rich in culture and diversity.

With the shopping conveniences of a big city, but where even non-shoppers will be impressed and entertained by the colour, diversity and vibrancy surrounding the souks (open-air market places), new-wave of hotels and riads (traditional houses) that can be found in abundance, Marrakech truly has something for everyone. Then there is the food. In recent years Marrakech has taken center stage in world cuisine and epicures (foodies) from around the world have flocked to the city to experience its culinary delights.

And certainly enough reason for the CityExplorer crew to make their first trip to Africa Marrakech: The hotel rooftop pool an amazing bonus!

Extra: CityExplorer crew had the pleasure of hooking up with new Rollerblade rider Ayoub El Gharib from Morocco who is seen doing some technical grinds on his homemade grindbar.

CityExplorer Episode 6 will be in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
