To celebrate his 40th birthday, Charlie Ruckly sent a few messages to someof his best mates to ditch everything and hit the road for a week. Of course most of us were keen to meet up with the crew, staying away from cold Winterclash and heading to the south of France and Spain. For a little more than a week the group wandered and explored the streets, bowls and nightlife of the cities of Montpellier, Girona and Barcelona. During the Chileros Tour of Mexico, we were invited to Morelia by Daniel Vallejo. We took the opportunity to visit yet another great city with an amazing skate scene. The day we got there we met most of the crew at an art exhibition and were surprised to see our mate Joe Atkinsons was also cruising through the country. We had a couple of sessions and heard there was a sketchy diy bowl up in the hills which was built inside a small unfinished house. When you spend a few months travelling and skating through the country you sometimes have to cave in and join a few sessions at the parks. While you may think skating might define a country’s street culture in the paved avenues of the big cities, the skateparks of Mexico also have a story to tell and are still the place of good times sharing sessions. This one is for all the carnales we met.Parks in Mexico are really surprising and oftentimes huge and vast dumps of concrete in some cities where only a few practice urban sports which usually adds to their volume. But meeting the crews of each city as we went through allowed us to share some great memories and even skate some hidden gems.
