If you want to help inline skating grow in your local community and you want to create more skaters, one solution is giving the gift of rollerblading to family and friends by giving them a pair of skates for a birthday present, Christmas present or even just donating old skates to anyone who shows an interest in the sport. As a result of having a primary school age child, I regularly come into contact with other children and their parents who want to give it a try and I have introduced a bunch of them to the activity by inviting them to the local roller disco, offering to teach my daughter’s friends and parents how to skate, gifting old skates to parents who are keen to learn, and the number of skaters in our local town has grown as a result.
