Rollerblading video comp, The Community Cup Invitational is back!Last time was a massive hit. We got 5 incredible skate videos, overwhelming positive feedback from the skaters’ and community, reaching over 1.9 millions views across social media.The skaters and filmers directly benefited from the fund, while the videos gave back to the culture the core of inline skating.The Community Cup directly impacted the whole year beyond the competition itself, givings us Edit of the Year finalists, Trick of the Year finalist and feeding into Skate of the Year.As a community we made it happen – Let’s do it again.You can support the prize fund here: https://gofund.me/93f14445bThe ConceptOur community voted best skaters submit a new, exclusive video parts, with one dropping daily for up to 12 days! The edits will be judged by both the public and a panel of industry experts. Every skater who submits a video receives a base rate, and there will be additional prizes for:Community Vote: 1st, 2nd, 3rdExpert Panel WinnerPrize FundThe skaters fund (base rate + prizes) will be raised through community donations. Meaning every contribution directly increases what the skaters receive.50% of the total fund will be split equally between all participating skaters as a guaranteed base rate.50% will be used for prizes.These percentages are fixed but the total amount isnt.Theres no cap on what can be raised, which means theres no limit to the skaters and filmers base rate or what they can win.The more we come together as a community, the bigger the fund becomes and potentially the more the skater are motivated. This is something were building collectively and its value is entirely in our hands.We want these videos to be free so the whole community and beyond can enjoy them. Making the content accessible to everyone increases exposure, pushing the culture forward and bringing people in, not just for this project, but for everyone involved and skating on the whole.The reality is, there isnt much money in skating and we want to reward the skater and filmers so grassroots support is a great way make this happen.Donations are completely optional, with a minimum of 5, which I believe it’s an accessible way to be part of something bigger.
