USD Aeon Basic 60 XXI – Rolling Review with Sam Crofts – 710171
For 2021, USD made a really good thing even better. Say hello to the AEON Basic 60 XXI, a versatile aggressive skate that gives you all the tools to bring your skate game to the next level. Designed with a durable hard boot unibody that incorporates the boot and frame into a single piece, giving you a low center of gravity that provides excellent control and stability. We listen to skaters and appreciate their feedback. We heard you loud and clear when designing the USD AEON Basic 60 XXI; it comes with a new thicker shock absorber and a taller cuff that is also height adjustable. With a huge central grind area between the 2nd and 3rd wheel and a fast, wide soul plate, the AEON Basic 60 XXI is meant for big, long grinds and pushing the limits of what’s possible on aggressive skates. Riding on new USD 61mm wheels with an improved core and WICKED ABEC 9 bearings, this impressive aggressive skate gives you comfort, support, durability, and performance right out of the box.

Chris Peel – Then And Now Blading Interview EP01 (Jan Welch)

Jan WelchChris Peel – Then And Now Blading Interview EP01
from Jan Welch on 10 Sep 2021

For the first episode of the Then And Now Interview Series, I speak with legendary rolling artist, Chris Peel. Chris played a huge behind-the-scenes role during the late 90s to mid-2000s in the aggressive inline skating industry. Growing up in Wakefield, in the UK, he started designing t-shirt’s for Puberty Clothing before landing a job with DNA magazine. He then made his way stateside to San Diego, California, in 2000 to work for and design Daily Bread Magazine. In San Diego, he created the initial branding, image, and logos for Ground Control, Rat Tail Distribution, 4×4 Urethane, Vicious Bearings, and Nimh skates.

Chris is a long-time friend who also designed the Big Wheel Blading logo for me in 2017. We haven’t had much contact these last few years, so I thought it would be fun to contact him to catch up and reminisce on our years in San Diego, working at Daily Bread together and teaming up on many projects for Rat Tail, and it’s brands.

This interview is also available as a podcast on all major streaming services. Just search for “Then And Now Blading”.
