1999 THE CURSE My Favorite Rail

1999 and Im just getting introduced to The Curse rail. Its a perfect 14 stair rail located at The University of Utah. Real Ride Skatepark was built in 1998 and I had just turned 16 and was driving 30 minutes to be up north. I was just really starting to learn to skate handrails, and this was the perfect rail to have. The campus is a on the base of the Wasatch Mountain in Salt Lake City, Utah. The prime location for a ton of skate spots! The story of The Curse was that there was a skater in the early 90s skating the rail and they hit the tree and died! Later told to me that it was another rail in the area but it was a death of a skater that got this rail its name. If anyone knows the real story I would love to hear it!!

2004 BYU DROP

BYU in Provo, Utah is a pretty hard place to skate without getting busted. On this particular day I got a lot more time than usual to skate one of my favorite drop rails I’ve ever skated. It’s always nice to have a rail that has a runway and landing!

2004 Park City Skate Park

2004 and I skated past this rail every time I enter the skatepark. The only way I saw to skate it was to skip the first half and go as fast as I could on a top soul to jump over the rail at the end blocking you from finishing the rail. You really had to be on the rail exactly right to be able to ride off the end with good momentum. Im not a high jumper so I relied on speed to get me there.

2002 My Best Friend Tobias Maier and The REVOLT

2002 and my best friend and favorite skater Tobias Maier. We met playing roller hockey and his Mom was the coach. We started hanging out after practice to go skate around and do tricks. Tobias is for all I know the inventor of the revolt. I dont remember seeing anyone doing it before this and he did it so well!! Anyone know of anyone doing it prior to 2002?

ATL STREET History

2026 Just made a trip to Atlanta for thecaptainsofconcreteevent andChris Edwards invited me to skate street at the spot where the first handrail was skated, along with the first sweaty and kindgrind! It gave me nostalgia of all the times I visited Atlanta. Superhick, IMYTA, Barely Dead filming and more. Heres my street clips from 2002-2004 in Atlanta, Georgia where street skating was born!
