Roces MESS UP!? 450 PEACE Skate! Decathlon Skate, Good or Bad for Rollerblading? HOT TAKE
from Tom Moyse on 23 Oct 2025
Roces just release the M12 Plus Nils Jansons PEACE skate in collaboration with Kiwie and big box store Decathlon have announced they are coming out with their own aggressive inline skate – but is it good news all round.Nils Jansons has team up with well-known local Latvian artist Kiwie for his new pro M12 Plus skate. They had teamed up previously on a project painting the biggest PEACE sign in Latvia and continued to push the theme of peace with Nils’ new Roces skate. The skate received the usual mixed reception but probably edging on the side of well liked – however people did point out the price 450 Euros was steep and also noted that nothing was mentioned publicly about donating to any Peace building cause or organisation, which seemed on when they were playing so hard off that theme. Is it just a throw away idea used for marketing or is there more to it?I dive into the reaction and give my take.It looks like big box store Decathlon have an aggressive skate on the way. Their soon to be released ST540 model seem like it could be positive for rollerblading as the store has a massive world wid presence and would surely bring more visibility to rollerblading. But could this have a negative impact as well?00:16 Whats going on with ROCES00:58 Roces M12 Nils Jansons Peace Skate01:38 No donation to chairty?03:00 Nils Jansons is a great skater04:18 Not the first to put a peace sign on anything05:46 Alternative ideas for the Roces m12 06:15 Rollerblading brand helping causes08:04 Is the Decathlon Agg Skate for the industry?09:10 Positives for Rollerblading10:11 Bad News for inline skating13:01 Focusing on rollerblading culture
