A Retiring Artist

I recently went to visit my parents in Normandy for the weekend and just before the trip I bought a new top mic for my DSLR. Having decided to test it out I shot a little interview with Dad and he turned out to be such an eccentric subject that I thought I could try and make a whimsical little doc based on his musings. A few cutaways later, not to mention some stubby french beers, and I was off again on Sunday night with not enough rushes and plenty of ideas. So here you have it, two days with my dad, waxing lyrical on what it is to be a retired artist.

E-Sting – Gorilla Games

Sometimes I like to make silly animations…

This was a joke entry to the famous E4, E-stings competition in the UK. The public gets to submit idents for the channel and the best ones get used on TV. I felt sure I had a strong chance with this sick little puppy but alas, it was not to be. I just don’t know why this wasn’t a shoe in… 😉

Seven days far away

On a recent trip to Iceland I was intending to relax and soak in some hot water but the surroundings forced my hand and I was compelled to shoot something. It was the end of February and with the sun hanging so low for so long it really is an extraordinary country to film at that time of year.

Luckily I was traveling with some very helpful and patient people and we were able to do something.
