Faction Skate Company: Clark Kirkman Spills the Tea
from ONEblademag on 15 Jan 2022

Clark Kirkman is a name familiar to anyone that studied rollerblading VHS tapes in the late ’90s. As a resident of Maryland he had access to an abundance of hotspots and crews along the northern east coast. These excursions led to clips in Chris Majette’s videos and frequent appearances in Videogroove Video Magazine. After 30 […]

SWITCH GRINDS Revisited 2022 JAD Rollerblading (JADRollerVlog)

JADRollerVlogSWITCH GRINDS Revisited 2022 JAD Rollerblading
from JADRollerVlog on 15 Jan 2022

The snow melted and I was finally able to play in the skate park for a little bit. I didn’t have a lot of time but I really wanted to revisit my switch grinds. I learned a few new ones in my basement on my practice box. I thought maybe I would step it up to the slightly bigger skate park rail. It’s still a super small rail but it’s a lot of fun. I am also rocking new Laced laces and SLIQX Acetal anti-rokcers on my THEM Ridders. And I’m thinking the sidewalls of the new THEM plates are slightly thicker. I also feel like these plates slide faster? Is either of that true? What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments. Thank you for watching!

Skatefresh Asha teaching a free event in Uganda during a Christmas family visit in December 2021 (SkatefreshAsha)

SkatefreshAshaSkatefresh Asha teaching a free event in Uganda during a Christmas family visit in December 2021
from SkatefreshAsha on 15 Jan 2022

My father has lived in Uganda for 25 years and in East Africa for over 50 years. I was born in Tanzania and ‘Asha’ is a very popular East African (and Indian) name. After not seeing my father during the entire pandemic my 3 siblings and I decided to spend Xmas 2021 with him and we all travelled from different countries to be together. We had a great holiday. On Sunday 19th December 2021 with the help of the Ugandan Skating Federation and the Skating Club of Kampala (headed by Lumala Reagan), we organised a free event involving a day of workshops. These included children and young people, intermediate level skills, speed skating and instructor development sessions.Skaters of all ages and ability levels attended and I particularly enjoyed the short laser coaching sessions with different students. I found the surfaces VERY challenging and will never complain about a rough surface in the UK again!Video filmed by Asha’s brother.Edited by @skaterstu_brightonskateIf you’d like to see more skating in Uganda, check out the following sites;Instagram: @skatingclubofkampalaFacebook: Uganda SKating Federationhttps://www.facebook.com/Uganda-Skating-Federation-108964937165875/PobsGiddy Inline Skaterhttps://youtube.com/channel/UC810fs-RT74GhuKlksOSEygWho is Asha?
