Sam Grimm: One Night at Oil City Skatepark

Aside from occasionally seeing him at a local skate comp watching from the sidelines–catching up with Sam Grimm on a pair of blades is a hard task these days. He’s a family man, a supervisor for a general contractor, and a student for another degree in engineering.

Two years ago we talked about putting together a new edit and Sam even bought a new pair of USD’s. One night we showed up at Oil City Skate Park to get back into shape and shot these “rinky dink” tricks.

Unfortunately life got extremely busy for us all and we haven’t been able to film much so rather than delay any longer–Here’s what we got started.

Montre Livingston: A Liu Kang Into the Melting Pot

Before Thanksgiving and immediately after he just finished touring with Vibralux for his Trail of beers VOD, I reached out to Montre to see if he was open to fly up for a quick weekend here in NYC–Queens specifically–to blade, chill, and drink some beers. He took me up on that offer and showed up that same weekend.

Now, the closest I’ve ever got to him in person was watching him tear it up live at the NYC Invite so I had no idea what to expect but as soon as I picked him up from Laguardia Airport he was as cool as anyone can get. Add a 12-pack of Pabst in the mix and you can say we covered a lot on life that night.

This section takes place over a short winter weekend where sunlight does not last very long but all of us involved still enjoyed a good amount of blading, drinking, thai food, and good vibes.
