$156 Game of BLADE: Brothers Battle at Blading Cup – Rollerblading VLOG

There’s no rivalry like a brother’s rivalry and if you ever spent just 5 minutes in the same room with Josh and Sam Jeter, you’d know they can’t agree upon anything. And when it comes to skating they both think that they are the better brother. At the 2019 Blading Cup we unintentionally turned a small game of skate between brothers into a big spectacle with $156 and a limited run TooEasy Hat on the line!

If you’ve never been to a blading cup, this video is for you. There’s countless edits out there that show you the highlights of top pros and og’s but we decided to show you the lifestyle side of Blading Cup. Of course with that comes some skating but we kept it mostly to the young up and comers and bladies that have the courage to skate in front of the same large crowds as the pro event but rarely get as much recognition.

This year we partnered with our friends at TooEasy on a booth space and it’s safe to say we were the loudest most hyped group in Santa Ana. Thank you to everyone that stopped by the booth and said hello or bought a set of antis or apparel!

Congratulations to all the participants and winners! It’s very apparent that we’ve got a strong and finally once again growing community of rollerbladers. We can’t wait until next year. Thank you to the city of Santa Ana, Jon Julio, and the team for giving rollerblading a platform to be displayed in the public eye.

TOOEASY initiation challenge at tiny skate park: Rollerblading Vlog

The TOOEASY x Moonshine squad unknowingly skate the legendary Dolphin Park ledge one last time before it was filled in with cement by the city of Carson. With a surprise visit from Intuition Skate Shop and S9 Bearing Pro rider Derek Henderson.

We then ventured to a school with literally the most perfect ledge on earth. (Other than Dolphin, RIP) But we were met by another surprise guest. After getting hit with a real life uno reverse card we made our way to a back up ledge spot with the most slippery floor imaginable. But when life give you lemons, you make swivel slides.

For the final spot of the day we decided to check out the Harbor City Skatepark. But not the new one. Apparently, this huge park has two skateparks within a hundred yards from each other. Must be nice. My home town didn’t even have one skatepark until I had already been skating for years. While there we officially jumped our old friend Robert into our gang. And by that I mean we forced him to take our TOOEASY initiation challenge of planking for one minute straight, a task that has now become a daily regime for some of the squad.

As much as skate videos would lead you to believe that everything was done effortlessly and first try, it’s rare that they show you the struggles of landing a difficult trick. Progression and self improvement is part of what makes rollerblading fun. Capturing these life achievements we call clips helps us not only share what we’ve learned with the rollerblading community but it’s also something we can look back on whether it be shortly after to learn from or much later to reflect on a great time in our lives. I can tell you from personal experience the quickest and most fun way to learn is with friends. This episode of the Blade Vlog shows a behind the scenes look at the last couple days of filming for Jeremy Soderburg’s “Bittersweet” edit a farewell to riding for USD skates.

Monday Night Skate Long Beach: This Week in Blade & Philip Moore , First Sessions in Them Skates

This Monday Night Skate at Houghton Skatepark on the Norf side of Long Beach, CA was one for the books. We had surprise visits from Nor Cal Rollerbladers Philip Moore, Kevon Biz Thompson of Blader Union’s “This Week in Blade” and even a visitor all the way from the Netherlands!

Trying to squeeze in one last session before flying out to New York City for the Them Skates x Too Easy LBC “Independent” video premiere and Boshi Pope Skate Off, half the squad attempts to make the switch to Them Skates in support of former USD Pro Jeremy Soderburg whose car reluctantly broke down on the way to Monday Night Skate.

The park was not only packed with rollerbladers but it was packed with everyone and their moms! With several collisions taking place with just me alone, filming this episode made me worry for the life of my camera and myself! There was one casualty of the night, however, and I would like to take a moment of silence for our P-Rail which was killed by the entire crew including Undercover Wheels rider Chris Calkins, USD Skates Joey Lunger, Joe Jimenez and also joining us all the way from Vancouver, Canada was Zeke Kubinski.
