My entry in the Won in 60 Seconds Online Edit competition. Setups were USD Carbon 2’s and Mathieu Ledoux Carbon 3’s with Kizer Advance Level 2 Frames and Rollerblade 72mm 80a wheels with Scribe Abec 9’s, and Mathieu Ledoux USD Carbon 3 Pro Skate with Kizer Advance Level 1 Frames and Rollerblade 80mm 76a wheels with Them Goods Alex Broskow Abec 7 Bearings. Song is Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue.
Some neat tidbits about why I chose these spots to clip up with the powerblade frames are as follows, and all clips were filmed on solo missions with the tripod. The handicap was out of user difficulty, I wasn’t sure I could manage this switchup with these frames let alone the garbage can added in with a minimal runway was stressful to say the least. The roof gap was insane, my friend 540’d it a couple years back but needed wood to roll on given the material of a squishy hard rubber, so I did it without any boards. Proper balance allowed me to roll just well enough to jump and a few times were very intense, on one attempt I sunk in with the front wheels and almost shot face first off the edge. The bmx track is obvious, need big wheels to manage that big booster at the beginning and to roll away on dirt, cross that one off the blading bucket list. The fat yellow rail is a mess, the run up is covered in gravel, has a speed bump and tons of large rocks and debris, the landing isn’t a whole lot better and the rail itself is tricky to lock soul plate tricks on solid and then there is a telephone pole with nails in it. The new boardwalk we have by the river is nice on the path but the “textured” ground that is meant to resemble wooden planks and rocks in stone are enough to make your feet go numb. Last trick is inspired by Mat Ledoux’s parking garage plant in Barcelona, so I felt I needed to land this small run up, uphill landing asphalt disaster drop, in the rain after 3 hours of intense blading in 90 degree heat at 10 am in his honor. I did manage to land leaning forward and blast my palms and tore them up nicely enough to make them stick to the desk when I was editing this, ha. Enjoy!
