Razors Skates was once the strongest presence in aggressive skating, boasting a team packed with icons and a local sponsored ripper in almost every major city, but that was then and this is now. In recent years, the brand’s reputation within the community has gradually worsened due to a seemingly endless stream of scandals and disgruntled former riders with horror stories about skating for the company. The past seven days have been particularly bad for the Razors Skates, after they came under fire for not doing enough to support pro team rider Jeph Howard when he suffered a serious injury and only a couple of days later Yandriel Silverio revealed the brand refused to pay him more than $1,000 for content he made to promote the company’s skates as a result of a failed incentive scheme that Razors created. This video explores the various failings the company has made in recent years and takes a look at some of the amazing talent they have let slip through their fingers who are now flourishing at other companies.
