Scotland’s Newest Skatepark – Dalry Skatepark (wheelsceneblading)

wheelscenebladingScotland’s Newest Skatepark – Dalry Skatepark
from wheelsceneblading on 21 May 2022

Scotland got its second new outdoor skatepark, Dalry Skatepark in Ayrshire. I decided to visit for a couple of hours with Craig Anderson and Elliot Provan, and we filmed a few clips while we were there. It’s small but it’s well designed, well built and it’s got something for everyone. If live nearby or fancy a nice day trip to the Scottish countryside, it’s worth a visit.Massive thank you my Patreon supporters:Reto BurginJumpstreet PodcastRene DillonMicki ToftNeil OwenSamuel BrownleeJimmy PancakesStephen JohnstoneIf you would like to join our Patreon and be entered into a monthly prize draw for Wheel Scene merchandise, visit my page here – https://www.patreon.com/wheelsceneVisit our our online shop – https://wheelscene.bigcartel.comFollow Wheel Scene on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/wheelsceneblading

Honest Reviews: Roka 4×100 Frames (wheelsceneblading)

wheelscenebladingHonest Reviews: Roka 4×100 Frames
from wheelsceneblading on 18 May 2022

I’ve been skating the Roka 4x100mm frames for the past couple of months and, as a cost effective alternative to the premium Wizard Skating NR100 frames, I was impressed. The only flaws I found with them was putting the wheels in was a bit of a pain in the arse – I would recommend using a rubber mallet to bash them in there. Although it was nowhere near as difficult as trying to get wheels into a new set of Kizer Fluid V frames – those are a bloody nightmare. I also found that the frame axles (or bolts) came loose every two or three sessions, but, again, this is no big deal. The cuff bolts on my Them Skates came loose at least twice a session until I applied Loctite (twice) on them. If you are looking to get into Wizard skating but you’re put off by the high price tag, these are worth a try. Razors Skates Are Blowing it (wheelsceneblading)

wheelscenebladingRazors Skates Are Blowing it
from wheelsceneblading on 16 Apr 2022

Razors Skates was once the strongest presence in aggressive skating, boasting a team packed with icons and a local sponsored ripper in almost every major city, but that was then and this is now. In recent years, the brand’s reputation within the community has gradually worsened due to a seemingly endless stream of scandals and disgruntled former riders with horror stories about skating for the company. The past seven days have been particularly bad for the Razors Skates, after they came under fire for not doing enough to support pro team rider Jeph Howard when he suffered a serious injury and only a couple of days later Yandriel Silverio revealed the brand refused to pay him more than $1,000 for content he made to promote the company’s skates as a result of a failed incentive scheme that Razors created. This video explores the various failings the company has made in recent years and takes a look at some of the amazing talent they have let slip through their fingers who are now flourishing at other companies. Is it time for Razors Skates to take a long, hard look at how they do business? Platform Episode 56 – Elliot Stevens (wheelsceneblading)

wheelscenebladingPlatform Episode 56 – Elliot Stevens
from wheelsceneblading on 13 Apr 2022

Bolton’s Elliot Stevens is the latest guest on Platform podcast. He talks about his current life in Vancouver, British Colombia and why he decided to move there. He also delves into the past – why he quit Valo to ride for USD Skates, filming with Brandon Negrete in Los Angeles, his epic Haitian section, the random stuff that he would get up to while living in Australia, the part he filmed in Sydney with Dom West, competing against Nick Lomax and Alex Burston while they all grew up skating together and the point when he decided to stop pursuing the pro blading dream. As always, he delivers every story with the warm, carefree, self-deprecating charm that he is known and loved for. If you have never met Elliot Stevens in person, you are missing out. The man is a good laugh!
