A DAY AT THE PARK, with Johnny Jensen & friends (Chris P)

Chris PA DAY AT THE PARK, with Johnny Jensen & friends
from Chris P on 12 Sep 2017

Filmed on a phone on 4/7/13 at The Park in Geelong, featuring Shane Duck as the he support act, Johnny Jensen as the headliner, a guest appearance by Gav Drumm with a line filmed on 11/7/15 at the very end of the day at the Australian Rolling Open, and a special cameo at the end. The
This was all created to hype everyone for the Victorian Titles at The Park this Saturday September 16, but primarily to showcase Johnny’s Jensen’s skating. He recently reminded everyone what an amazingly light-footed ninja he is on skates, when he carried our Killerboots street hockey team to the Minor Premiership in the league in our rookie season. After our Grand Final was showing a friend all this old footage of Johnny on my phone, to much high praise, and I was compelled to put together something cool. Metallica’s multipart instrumental track, Orion, is epic and floaty and so is Mr Jensen on the blades, plus he’s an old skool metal head so it felt right to have some fun with it.
Enjoy, and get pumped for The 2017 Vic’s!

Johnny Jensen: A Day At The Park (Chris P)

Chris PJohnny Jensen: A Day At The Park
from Chris P on 12 Sep 2017

Filmed at The Park in Geelong on my iPhone on July 4, 2013, featuring Johnny Jensen as the main event, Shane Duck as the he support act, a guest appearance by Gav Drumm with a line I filmed of him at the very end of the day’s proceedings at the Australian Rolling Open on July 11, 2015, plus a very special cameo at the very end.
The video is primarily to hype everyone for this weekend’s Victorian Titles at The Park, as well as to showcase my friend Johnny’s skating ability. I shot this 4 years ago, and recently Johnny reminded me how light footed and talented he is on the blades, when he carried our Killerboots street hockey team to the Grand Final in our rookie season. Following the Grand Final I showed a friend all this footage from
Geelong of Johnny and I felt compelled to finally put it together. I’ve always been drawn to Metallica’s track, Orion, released in 1986 on their Master Of Puppets record. It’s long, epic, and requires a certain caliber of skating to do it justice. I felt Johnny ticked the boxes and is an old skool metal head so it felt right to use the track. I hope you enjoy, and get pumped for The 2017 Vic’s!

Callum Cochrane: Kitchen Hoops (Chris P)

from Chris P on 10 Aug 2017

Callum was 7 when we filmed this in my kitchen. He’s now 8 and as he has been growing up he has become better and better at basketball. He plays for the Collingwood Allstars and he likes cheering for Melbourne United. He also likes Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls and Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
The song in this video is called Basketball by Kurtis Blow. I hope you enjoyed our video as much as we enjoyed filming it.
Happy 8th birthday Callum! Nice shooting!

The On Time Tour 2013 (Chris P)

Chris PThe On Time Tour 2013
from Chris P on 24 Oct 2015

Starring Jean Baptiste “JB” Grammagnac, Pierre Lelievre and Chris Pullar, with guest Mathias von Gostømski. Also featuring Issame Tolba, Greg Perrenoud, Andrew Hosker, Lee Jagger, Roberta the car and a couple of cameos.

On June 5, 2013 two Frenchman and an Australian met up in Paris to embark on a 8 day rollerblading adventure. After a quick park session and a trick at the famous Bercy Arena (which was to host an Iron Maiden concert that evening) we hit the road, headed south to Barcelona for two days of street skating. Things seemed to be going to schedule so we jokingly named the trip The On Time Tour, and the theme of being on time continued for rest of the trip. For example once we got to Barcelona we stopped off at a small skatepark for 15 minutes. Just when we were ready to leave, an old friend of mine showed up; Mathias, originally from Germany, had lived and skated in Melbourne a decade ago and was now living in Barcelona and was happy to take us to some great spots we would otherwise never skated. Amazing timing. Then it was back up to France for the annual Marseille Pro Bowl Contest, which had been delayed by rain, which allowed not miss a thing. Once again we were on time.
Marseille was the end of the line for Pierre, and JB and I drove into Switzerland to Bulle, where JB was living at the time. He loves the rugged skatepark there and it shows.
A few days later we drove to Lausanne where we said goodbye and I jumped on a plane to Liverpool to meet some friends at the famous Rampworx skatepark that evening.
It was an amazing 8 days and we would like to thank the lovely Bettina for housing us in Barcelona, Mathias for being a legend and showing us the spots, and Pierre’s sister and brother-in-law for housing us in Marseille.
I’ve always loved this Curtis Mayfield song and when the extended version was playing in the car between countries I knew I wanted to use it when cutting together the footage. 2 years later I finally got around to doing it.
I hope you enjoy this postcard skate video, filmed and editing entirely on my phone.
